From Harness to Suit
Malcolm Page needs no introduction – we all proudly remember him as our Country’s flag bearer at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012.
Malcolm is the most decorated 470 sailor in a 52 year history, the first Australian to become a dual gold medalist in sailing, 7 time World Champion in the 470, the only sailor to be honored with the AIS best of the best award, the list goes on and on.
Since retiring from 470 sailing after the 2012 Olympics in London, Malcolm swapped his harness for a suit and took on a desk job in the IT industry. This transition was short lived and after 9 months realized his passion was in the sporting industry.
Sports Management was where he wanted to be, after London he sailed professionally for 2 years until he commenced his current position – Chief Marketing Officer, World Sailing.
Malcolm’s association and contribution to the sport of sailing continues to play a major role in his life.
This week Malcolm, with his vast experience and knowledge, is heading up marketing for the Sailing World Cup at St Kilda where over 900 competitors from 23 nations will come together on Port Phillip Bay to compete in the Melbourne leg of the Sailing World Cup.
