LEG NINE DAY 3, 0400 GMT POSITION REPORT
KIDS STAY AHEAD OF THE GAME
ABN AMRO TWO (Sebastien Josse) have managed to maintain their lead and are now 15 miles ahead of their rivals. They are currently making 9 knots of boat speed towards the Skagen gate off the northern most tip of Denmark.
Pirates of the Caribbean (Paul Cayard) are now in second place after making a tactical decision to hug the coastline. This enabled them to sail a more direct course towards the top of Denmark whilst Brasil1 (Torben Grael) and Brunel (Matt Humphries) struggled with wind shifts further offshore.
ABN AMRO ONE (Mike Sanderson) has not been able to catch up with Ericsson Racing Team (Neal McDonald) and remain in 6th place at the back of the pack.
After passing through the Skagen gate, the fleet will head south–east for 6 miles towards a safe water buoy which they leave to port, before continuing on the same course towards the Swedish coast.
