Invitation for the International Moth World Championship 2001
Dear Moth Sailors !
On behalf of the Japan Moth Association ( MICA Japan ) I have the honour to invite all Moth Sailors to take part in the International Moth Class World 2001 in Choshi.
Choshi is located 50km East from Tokyo International Airport (NARITA) and facing the Pacific Ocean, which will provide long swell surfing condition for your excitement. The climate of October will be reasonable wind with Crystal Blue sky. We are very pleased to host this regatta to find out who is the best Moth Sailor in the world. We will do our best to provide good racing conditions and to make your stay enjoyable.

International Moth Class World Championships 2001

1. Rules
1-1 The regatta will be governed by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2001-2004 and the rules of Moth Class except as any of these altered by this Notice of race and the Sailing Instructions and by the Sailing Instructions.
1-2 Alternative penalties the 720 turn penalty, as specified in Rules 44.1 and 44.2 of the rules, shall apply.
2. Advertising
The regatta is classified as a Category B.
3. Eligibility
3-1 Only current financial members of the International Moth Class association shall be eligible to enter the regatta, and shall compete under the competitor's eligibility code set out in Appendix of the rules.
3-2 The helmsperson named on the yacht's entry form shall be same name for all race in the regatta.
3-3 Competitors under 19 year of age on the 31st December 2001 shall be classed as Juniors, and shall be eligible to win the Junior Championship. Competitors 40 year of age or over on the 31st December 2001 shall be classed as Masters, and shall be eligible to win the Master Championship.
3-4 All yachts entering the regatta must be International Moth which are currently registered with their national association. Chartered or borrowed boats shall be eligible to
compete provided detail are included with their entry form.
4. Entries and Fees
4-1 The entry fee for the regatta is 30,000 yen ( Japanese )
4-2 Nominations made on the entry form enclosed, accompanied by the Entry Fee are to send to

The closing date for entries is 31st July 2001.
4-3 Late entries may be accepted after closing date, but will incur an Additional Fee of 5,000 yen.
4 Entries are not refundable after 31st August 2001.
5. Measurement
5-1 Each yacht shall submit a valid measurement certificate or sighting by regatta measurer when registering, in accordance with rule 78. Any dispensation on production of a measurement certificate when so requested shall be in accordance with rule 78.2
5-2 The regatta measure or authorized deputies may carry out measurement
and safety checks on any yacht at any time during regatta.
6. Sailing Instructions
Detailed sailing instruction will be available to all competitors at skipper's meeting at the Choshi mariner club house on 5th October 2001.

9. Courses
Will be described in detail in the sailing instructions.
10. Scoring
The Low Point System as outlined in Appendix A of the rule will used.
